About Us - Not just for German Shepherds

The B&DGSD Club was originally formed to train German Shepherd dogs but over the years has evolved and now is a club where owners and all dogs, whatever the breed, can come along for obedience training. The club is supported by Bury Council, who kindly give us permission to use the park every Sunday, and the Kennel Club Good Citizen Award Scheme.

We feel that allowing all breeds to train with the club is beneficial for both owners and dogs as some people are worried by certain breeds of dog and being around these breeds give them confidence when meeting them when out on walks, it also gives nervous dogs a chance to learn socialisation with other dogs, as well as people, which is equally important.

The B&DGSD Club is non-profit making where the trainers receive no payment, but give their time for the love of the German Shepherd breed - and all other breeds - and the pleasure of seeing the dog that comes with no training develop into a well behaved and obedient dog. A credit to the time and patience put in by the trainer and handler.

Membership is only £15 per year which covers the cost of equipment, insurance and other associated costs of running the club.
